What We Do

Monmouth Conservation Foundation (MCF) is a nationally accredited independent nonprofit land trust driven by community support. Since 1977, our core focus has been to permanently protect Monmouth County’s open space, farmland, and natural habitats, safeguarding the landscapes that define our community and natural resources that support our quality of life. We do so collaboratively, acting as a facilitator across landowners and leveraging funding through local, county, state, and federal partners.

We are proud to partner with:

Serving our Community

Over the last decade, our charge has been evolving to also include park development and environmental education, both with high priority focused on underserved communities. We also responsibly and consistently oversee the protection of critical natural resources on approximately 900 acres of protected lands throughout Monmouth County and, as of 2024, own and manage Scudder Preserve, a natural area that we are restoring and making more accessible to the public.

Situated on the central Jersey coast in the New York metropolitan area in the most densely populated state in the nation, our work to conserve our last remaining open spaces is critical to our health, well-being, and long-term sustainability. MCF’s efforts to #KeepMonmouthGreen include:

Creating Parks . Saving Open Space . Preserving Farmland . Teaching Environmental Sustainability . Safeguarding Waterways . Protecting Wildlife
