The Land Trust Accreditation Program recognizes land conservation organizations that meet national quality standards for protecting important natural places and working lands forever.

The Land Trust Accreditation Commission, an independent program of the Land Trust Alliance, conducts an extensive review of each applicant’s policies and program.

According to the Land Trust Alliance, a land trust, such as the Monmouth Conservation Foundation, is “a private, nonprofit organization that, as all or part of its mission, actively works to conserve land by undertaking or assisting in land or conservation easement acquisition, or by its stewardship of such land or easements.”

As Sierra Club founder John Muir stated, “Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where nature may heal and give strength to the body and soul.”
